Chortle Heat Success!

Chortle Banner on stageWeeks of preparation paid off and we successfully hosted a heat of the Chortle Student Comedy Awards on campus on Monday 27th February! A lovely audience, 11 student performers and the fantastic Joe Lycett as compère meant it was a good night all around and we were very impressed by the standard of comedy we witnessed. Congratulations must go to the winner Jack Campbell of De Montfort University.

A couple of our own from Warwick put in fantastic performances – Chris Purcell and Comedy Soc Webmaster Michael Kehinde. All though there could only be one winner, there’s a good chance (especially given the impressive level of talent we saw on show) that one or two more could be put through to the semi-finals once all the heats have been completed; furthermore there will be a “people’s choice” put through. If you missed out this year, check out Chortle on Youtube to see 3 minute extracts of the acts.

The evening was very much a success and we hope to host a heat again next year!
